Compatibility
The keyboard works with Windows 8/10 and newer, macOS, iOS and Android. For Bluetooth on the Mac side AULA states a BLE 4.0 or 5.0 (and newer) module requirement. The system layout is chosen right in the screen menu: switching to MAC or iOS swaps the left Win and Alt keys, and the Win key is not locked. Over Bluetooth 5.1 the keyboard remembers three devices — they appear as AULA-F98Pro-1, -2 and -3, and you can move between them from the screen without pairing again. The 2.4 GHz mode needs a free USB-A port. Setting a custom screen image and calibrating the clock are done through AULA’s own software.

AULA F98 Pro: description and configuration

AULA F98 Pro (F98Pro) — keyboard.

The AULA F98 Pro is a compact full-size board with 95 keys: the number pad is kept, but the rows sit tight together, so the case is only 385 mm wide. A small colour screen and a metal control knob sit in the top-right corner. The screen shows the time and date, the charge as a percentage, the current connection mode, the selected system and the lighting state, while the knob scrolls that menu and sets the volume.

The case and the keycaps are transparent polycarbonate: GDA-profile keys with 3D-printed legends, with the switches and the lighting visible through them. The build is gasket-mounted, with a layer of Poron foam that damps case resonance. The Ice Crystal switches are linear: an initial force from 26 gf, an operating force of 35 ±3 gf, 3.7 ±0.3 mm of total travel, 1.8 ±0.3 mm of pre-travel and a 48 ±3 gf bottom-out, rated at about 60 million keystrokes. Every key is hot-swappable and takes both 3-pin and 5-pin switches. AULA states 20 RGB effect modes, cycled with the knob, plus glowing strips along both sides of the case.

There are four connections: a USB Type-C cable, a 2.4 GHz link with a magnetic receiver that stows inside the case, and Bluetooth 5.1 for three devices at once — all switched from the screen. The same menu picks the system layout: WIN, MAC, iOS or Android. The 4,000 mAh battery sits in its own covered compartment and charges over that same Type-C port. One thing not to confuse: this is the F98 Pro, not the F98 Pro V3 — different generations with different screens.

A screen that answers the everyday questions

The small colour screen in the top-right corner takes care of the usual wireless-keyboard questions: how much charge is left, which mode it is in, which device it is talking to. The time and date sit there too. The screen menu picks the connection mode, the system (WIN, MAC, iOS, Android), the lighting colour and brightness, the volume and the interface language — English or Chinese. A custom image is loaded onto the screen with AULA’s own software.

A knob instead of key combinations

The metal knob beside the screen scrolls the menu and confirms a choice with a press. Volume changes as you turn it: clockwise up, counter-clockwise down. The same knob sets the lighting brightness and the effect speed — five steps each, 20% apart. It is noticeably easier than recalling an Fn combination, especially when the board sits by the monitor and you reach it one-handed.

A clear case and Ice Crystal switches

The keycaps and the case are clear polycarbonate: the switches and the lighting read right through, and the legends are 3D-printed rather than painted. The keycap profile is GDA — medium height, with a dish for the fingertip. Ice Crystal is a linear switch: an even stroke with no tactile step, actuating at 1.8 mm under 35 gf, with 3.7 mm of total travel. If you want a different sound or weight, every key is hot-swappable and takes both three- and five-pin switches.

Gasket, Poron and a removable battery

The plate rests on gasket pads, and Poron foam is laid inside the case — together they take out the hollow ring that all-plastic shells often have. The 4,000 mAh battery sits in its own compartment under a cover on the underside: you can see it in the bottom view, and AULA says plainly that an additional battery can be fitted. With the default backlight the maker states over 16 hours of use; charging runs over Type-C, the same cable as the wired mode.

This is the F98 Pro, not the F98 Pro V3

AULA’s line has two similar screen-equipped models and they are easy to mix up. This one is the F98 Pro: 95 keys, Ice Crystal switches, a 4,000 mAh battery, Bluetooth 5.1 for three devices. The F98 Pro V3 is the next generation with a different screen, and it is listed separately in the GEEKSHOP catalogue. When comparing prices and reviews online, watch for the V3 suffix — the specifications do not match.
