Compatibility
The keyboard connects over a USB cable and registers as a standard HID device, so Windows, macOS and Linux see it without any driver install. Fine tuning — actuation point, Rapid Trigger, instant stop, key remapping, macros and lighting — is done in the AULA web driver on the manufacturer's site with the cable plugged in. The layout is ANSI with Latin legends; there are no Cyrillic legends on the keycaps, and a Russian layout is enabled in the operating system.

AULA HERO 84 HE: description and configuration

AULA HERO 84 HE (HERO84HE) — keyboard.

The AULA HERO 84 HE is a wired magnetic-switch keyboard in a compact 80% format: 84 keys, a full function row, dedicated arrows and a right-hand column with Home, End, PgUp and PgDn. There is no numpad, so the mouse gets noticeably more desk, yet none of the working keys are buried on an FN layer.

A magnetic switch does not close a contact — it measures the stem position, so the actuation point and the reset point can be set in 0.01 mm steps in the AULA web driver. The board polls at 8,000 Hz and key scanning reaches 128 kHz. Stock switches are Black King, Dragon King or Jade King depending on the build you order; the sockets accept mixed sets, so you can fit lighter switches under WASD.

The case is built with a five-layer damping stack: PO sandwich foam, a switch base pad, a PET sound-dampening pad, bottom foam and a moulded silicone bottom pad. Across the series the positioning plate comes in aluminium alloy, carbon fibre or gold-plated FR4, and the keycaps are dual-shot moulded. A neon RGB bar with 36 LEDs runs along the top edge. Dimensions are 313.00 × 138.95 × 42.51 mm without the side panels, and the board weighs about 799 g without the cable.

84 keys: compact without the compromises

The HERO 84 HE sits between a 65% board and a full-size one: the numpad is gone, but the function row, the dedicated arrows and the right-hand column with Home, End, PgUp and PgDn all stay. If you game and work at the same desk, that is a well-judged size — the F-keys matter in editors and spreadsheets, and the 10 centimetres freed on the right go to the mouse. With the side panels the case is 322 mm wide, without them 313 mm.

0.01 mm: the key fires where you set it

The sensor reads the magnet position continuously, so the actuation point is not one fixed value but any point within the 3.4 mm travel, in 0.01 mm steps. Rapid Trigger releases the key the moment it starts moving back, without returning to the top. AULA also implements an instant stop: pressing D cancels a held W at any point of travel, which is exactly what counter-strafing needs.

Black King, Dragon King and Jade King

All three switches are magnetic with the same 3.4 ± 0.1 mm of travel and differ only in force. The lightest is Dragon King: 28 gf to actuate and 45 gf to bottom out. Jade King sits in the middle (30 and 48 gf) and Black King is the firmest (33 and 53 gf). The sockets take mixed sets, so you can run light switches under WASD and heavier ones under the modifiers. Which switch you get follows the colourway you pick.

A neon bar with 36 LEDs

A clear light guide with 36 LEDs runs along the top edge of the case, throwing light at the wall or the monitor independently of the key backlight. The keys themselves cover about 16.7 million colours, effects cycle with FN + PgUp, and the web driver lets you assign a colour to every key individually. On the lighter cases in the series the bar stays visible even in daylight.

Five layers and a choice of plate

Under the plate sit PO sandwich foam, a switch base pad, a PET pad, bottom foam and a moulded silicone bottom pad — the stack kills the hollow ring of the case and the metallic spring echo, so typing sounds shorter and denser. AULA builds the positioning plate itself in three versions: aluminium alloy, carbon fibre and gold-plated FR4, which sound different, from brighter to more muted. The assembly weighs about 799 g, so the board stays put on the desk.

Four colourways, three switches

You can order the white-and-purple build with ordinary top legends, white CONTOUR with its contour-line pattern, and pink and purple gradients with side-engraved keycaps. The switch follows the colourway: Black King on the white-purple and CONTOUR builds, Dragon King on the pink gradient, Jade King on the purple one. The force difference is small — 28 to 33 gf to actuate — so you can choose on looks.
