AULA NB98 — keyboard.
The AULA NB98 is a 98% board with 94 keys: the number pad is kept in full and the rows sit tight together, yet the case stays within 391 mm. Its defining trait is full transparency — the case, the keycaps and the switches themselves are made of light-conducting plastic, so the lighting reads right through rather than just around the keys. A small colour screen and a control wheel sit in the top-right corner. On AULA’s own site the model is sold as the F-NB98.
The board is gasket-mounted with multi-layer damping: a PORON pad under the switches, PET acoustic sheets, a PCB slotted around each key, a PORON layer and a silicone pad at the bottom. The Snow Smoke switches are linear, made of POM and lubricated at the factory: 3.6 mm of total travel, 1.5 mm of pre-travel and a rating of about 60 million keystrokes. The switch housing is clear polycarbonate, so light passes through it undimmed. The stabilisers on the large keys are factory-lubed and clear as well. Every key is hot-swappable and takes both three- and five-pin switches.
Inside sits an 8,000 mAh battery: by AULA’s lab measurements that is about 76 hours with the lighting off and about 32 hours with it on. There are three connections — 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth 5.1 with device switching, and a USB Type-C cable; Windows, macOS, Android and iOS are supported. The screen shows the time, the charge and the connection mode, while an Fn press flips the wheel between screen control and volume. The RGB lighting offers 19 effects plus an off mode.

Clear all the way through, not just on top
All three layers are transparent: the case, the keycaps and the switches themselves. The lighting does not stop at opaque plastic — it travels through the whole key, and the photos show both the LED and the spring inside the switch. The satellite stabilisers on the long keys are clear polycarbonate too, so the spacebar and Enter do not sit as dark patches in the pattern. In a dark room the board reads more like a desk lamp than an input device.

A screen and a wheel with two modes
The screen in the top-right corner keeps the time, the remaining charge and the current connection mode in view, and its menu selects the system, the language, the brightness, the speed, and the lighting effect and colour. The wheel beside it works in two modes: by default it drives the screen, and Fn plus a press of the wheel switches it to volume. You can tell which mode is active from the wheel’s own light — it breathes in screen mode and stays steady in volume mode. Fn + Esc returns everything to the defaults.

Gasket, PORON and PET — what it does for the sound
A clear plastic shell rings on its own, so AULA packed several layers inside: a PORON pad directly under the switches, PET acoustic sheets, another PORON layer and a silicone pad at the bottom. The PCB is slotted around each key, which makes the press a little more giving. Together with the gasket mount this removes the hollow echo that usually gives a fully transparent case away — the sound comes out lower and more contained.

8,000 mAh — an unusual capacity for a keyboard
An 8,000 mAh battery is well above what wireless keyboards usually carry. By AULA’s lab measurements that is about 76 hours with the lighting off and about 32 hours with it on; at eight hours of use a day the maker translates this into roughly ten days and four days respectively. These are lab figures and real results depend on brightness and the connection mode, but the order of magnitude means charging far less often than once a week.

On AULA’s site it is called the F-NB98
A small but useful detail for anyone who checks the specs before buying: in the manufacturer’s catalogue this keyboard is listed as the AULA F-NB98 Tri-Mode Mechanical Keyboard. What ships is the same on both sides — 94 keys, a clear case, Snow Smoke switches, a screen and a wheel. If you go looking for official material or the manual, search for F-NB98; the maker’s page is harder to find under NB98 alone.
