Compatibility
The headset uses three plugs: two 3.5 mm — one for headphones, one for the microphone — and one USB for the lighting. A desktop with separate audio jacks needs nothing extra. A laptop with a single combined jack needs a 3.5 mm splitter, after which both sound and microphone work. PlayStation, Xbox and Switch controllers also use a combined jack, so the plug pair will not fit directly and needs the same kind of adapter; the lighting will stay off if there is nowhere to connect the USB. No driver is required in any of these setups.

AULA S608: description and configuration

AULA S608 — gaming headset.

The AULA S608 is a plain wired PC headset: closed over-ear cups, a padded headband and a flexible boom microphone. A glowing ring runs around the rim of each cup with AULA's spider logo in the middle; the shell mixes grey and black plastic, and the left and right sides are marked L and R. It suits a home computer, an internet cafe or a classroom — anywhere sound and a microphone are needed without much spending.

The headset weighs 290 g and measures 230 × 200 × 100 mm. AULA lists the headband as adjustable: the cups hang from two thin metal rods while the padded strap above settles onto the shape of your head, so there is very little pressure on the crown. The microphone is fixed in place, but the gooseneck bends and holds its position, so the capsule can sit right by your mouth or be tucked upward when it is not needed. The cable leaves the left cup.

AULA lists the connection as two 3.5 mm plugs plus USB. The two audio plugs handle headphones and microphone, while USB in arrangements like this feeds the lighting, so the audio stays analogue and needs no driver. On a desktop with separate front or rear jacks it plugs straight in. A laptop with a single combined jack will need a 3.5 mm splitter — not included, but inexpensive.

A ring of light around the cup

The S608's lighting is simple: a closed ring with a rainbow gradient runs around the rim of each cup, leaving a matte cap with the AULA logo in the middle. The ring glows for as long as the USB plug is connected: there is no button and no app for it. On a desk it reads as bright but calmer than a scatter of individual LEDs.

A headband that settles by itself

The cups hang from two thin metal rods with a padded strap stretched between them. Put the headset on and the strap follows the shape of your head, spreading the 290 g across a wide area rather than one point on the crown. AULA calls the headband adjustable; the sides are marked L and R so you do not wear it backwards and misplace the microphone.

A microphone that stays where you put it

The microphone sits on a flexible metal gooseneck with a blue accent at the capsule. The arm does not spring back: bend it to sit close to your mouth for team chat, or swing it up and away when you are playing quietly or listening to music. It is fixed in place, so you cannot lose it — but you cannot remove it from the headset either.

Three plugs and nothing more

The S608 needs no batteries, no receiver and no vendor software: the audio runs over analogue 3.5 mm and the USB only feeds the lighting. That means it behaves the same on an old office tower, on a gaming PC and on a laptop with a splitter, with no audio latency at all. The flip side of that simplicity: there is no virtual surround, no equaliser and no in-line control on the cable.
