About this product

Compatibility
Connects to a desktop or laptop over USB and works straight away as an ordinary keyboard — no drivers, no batteries. The layout is ANSI, and Windows and Mac modes are switched with an Fn combination. Fine tuning — actuation travel, Rapid Trigger, lighting, profiles — happens in the AULA HUB web driver, which opens in a browser on the computer.

AULA WIN60 HE Pro: description and configuration

AULA WIN60 HE Pro (WIN 60 HE Pro) — keyboard.

The WIN60 HE Pro is the middle of the three builds of AULA's 60% magnetic keyboard, the WIN60. The layout is unchanged: 61 keys, no function row, no number pad and no separate arrows — all of that lives on the Fn layer, and the desk space goes to the mouse. The keycaps are two-tone: light-grey alphas, dark-grey modifiers and a black case.

The switches are magnetic: a magnet on the stem, a Hall sensor on the PCB, and an actuation point set in software anywhere from 0.1 to 3.4 mm, independently per key. What separates the Pro from the Standard Edition is precision and key-scanning speed: the normal Rapid Trigger step is 0.02 mm here, and Beast Mode takes it down to 0.01 mm; scanning runs at 4000 Hz across all keys and up to 32,000 Hz on a single key. Polling reaches 8000 Hz and latency starts at 0.2 ms.

The keyboard is configured in the AULA HUB web driver, which opens in a browser with no software to install. It sets actuation and Rapid Trigger, key remapping and the Fn layer, Quick Tap, macros and lighting, and it also calibrates each key and updates the firmware. Inside sit a metal positioning plate, foam between the PCB and the plate, a PO foam bottom layer and a thick rubber base.

What the Pro build adds

The case, the layout, the lighting and the 8000 Hz polling rate are identical across the WIN60 line — what separates the builds is how finely the PCB reads the magnetic field. The Pro's normal Rapid Trigger step is 0.02 mm, and Beast Mode takes it to 0.01 mm; the Standard Edition has no such mode at all. Key scanning differs too: 4000 Hz across the whole matrix and up to 32,000 Hz on the single key currently in use.

A magnetic stem instead of a contact

In an ordinary mechanical switch the key fires when metal contacts meet inside, and the press depth is fixed by the design. A magnetic switch has nothing to close: a magnet rides on the stem and the PCB measures its field with a Hall sensor. So you choose the actuation point yourself — 0.1 to 3.4 mm, a different one per key — and the dead zone can be removed entirely.

8000 Hz polling

Eight thousand polls per second is the default across the whole WIN60/68 series. AULA's lab compares that with a typical 1000 Hz wired magnetic keyboard — an eight-fold difference, and sixty-four-fold against ordinary 125 Hz wired mechanical boards. If you do not need that rate the driver offers seven levels, and latency starts at 0.2 ms either way.

The driver opens in a browser

AULA HUB is a web driver: it opens on AULA's site in a browser, there is nothing to download or install, and the settings are as reachable on someone else's computer as on your own. It sets per-key actuation and Rapid Trigger, key remapping and the Fn layer, Quick Tap, macros and lighting, and it calibrates the board and updates the firmware. Calibration on the Pro and Max builds is simple: press the keys one by one until each lights green, then save.

How the case is put together

A metal positioning plate sits under the keycaps, holding the switches rigidly and making the feedback crisper. Long keys ride on satellite stabilisers. Foam goes between the PCB and the plate, and another PO foam layer sits underneath: together they take the hollowness out of the case. The base is thick rubber with rubber feet, so the board neither slides across the desk nor flexes — which is what stops false triggers caused by deformation.
