Compatibility
Works as an ordinary USB keyboard on PCs and laptops; separate Windows and Mac modes are switched with an Fn combination. The AULA HUB driver opens in a browser, with nothing to install. The connection is wired only — a free USB port is needed; the model has no wireless mode and no Bluetooth.

AULA WIN68 MAX: description and configuration

AULA WIN68 MAX (WIN 68 MAX) — keyboard.

The WIN68 MAX is the top version of AULA's wired magnetic keyboard in a 65% format. It keeps 68 keys: the arrows and a right-hand column with Insert, Delete, PgUp and PgDn stay, while the F-row and the number pad are gone. At 321 mm the case takes less desk space than a full-size board and leaves room for wide mouse sweeps.

Instead of mechanical switches it uses Wing Chun magnetic ones: a Hall sensor reads the stem position continuously, so the actuation point moves anywhere between 0.1 and 3.4 mm, separately for every key, and Rapid Trigger resets the key the moment it travels back. On the MAX version the Rapid Trigger step is 0.01 mm, and plain RT is joined by RS, DKS, MT, TGL and SOCD. Polling goes up to 8,000 Hz with seven selectable levels, the matrix is scanned at 4,000 Hz and a single key at up to 32,000 Hz; the stated latency starts from 0.2 ms.

The connection is wired, through the USB Type-C port on the keyboard. Configuration happens in a browser through the AULA HUB web driver, so nothing has to be installed; the same place calibrates the switches and updates the firmware. PBT keycaps and magnetic switches come off without soldering. The model has no wireless mode: if you need Bluetooth, look at AULA's other series.

65% — arrows kept, nothing spare

The WIN68 MAX has 68 keys. What survives from a full-size board are the arrows and the right-hand column with Insert, Delete, PgUp and PgDn — the keys your hand reaches for in games and while editing text. The F-row and the number pad are gone; the Fn layer is taken up by ScrLk, Home, End, Print Screen, Pause Break and the lighting controls. At 321 mm the case hands the freed centimetres to the mouse, which tells on long swipes at low sensitivity.

Wing Chun magnetic switches instead of ordinary ones

On a mechanical switch the actuation point is fixed by metal contacts and cannot be changed. On a magnetic one a Hall sensor reads the stem position continuously, so you set the depth yourself — anywhere from 0.1 to 3.4 mm, and separately for every key. AULA describes the Wing Chun switch itself as 36 gf initial force, 49 gf at bottom-out and 3.4 ± 0.1 mm of total travel. Each key's magnetic field is calibrated in the driver: the key lights up green once calibrated and the result is saved.

Rapid Trigger down to 0.01 mm and the MAX modes

Rapid Trigger resets a key not at a fixed height but as soon as the stem starts moving back: an A–D strafe comes out sharper and the stop after release lands sooner. The adjustment step is exactly what separates the versions: AULA's manual gives MAX 0.01 mm against 0.02 mm on the standard edition (the spec block on the site quotes 0.02 mm for MAX, dropping to 0.01 mm in Beast Mode). Beyond plain RT the MAX version is listed with RS, DKS, MT, TGL and SOCD — one key can issue different commands at different depths or behave as a toggle.

8,000 Hz polling and scanning up to 32,000 Hz

The board reports key state up to 8,000 times a second; the driver offers seven polling levels, so the rate can be lowered when the computer is busy. The matrix is scanned at 4,000 Hz and a single key at up to 32,000 Hz; the stated latency starts from 0.2 ms. In practice the gap against a 1,000 Hz board shows up first where the moment of release matters.

AULA HUB — configuration right in the browser

AULA's own HUB driver runs in a browser: nothing has to be installed and the keyboard can be set up even on someone else's computer. It sets the actuation point and Quick Tap, remaps keys and the FN layer, builds Super Keys — DKS, advanced keys and macros — changes lighting colours and effects, updates the firmware and restores factory settings.

A metal plate, foam and a thickened case

The switches sit on a metal positioning plate, which holds the rows more firmly than a plastic one. A Poron sandwich layer lies between plate and PCB, with another Poron layer along the bottom (EPDM there on the standard edition): together they take the hollow ring out of an empty case. The WIN series case itself is thickened plastic — AULA gives the WIN68HE shell weight as 166.3 g — so it flexes less under the hand and produces no false presses from deformation.
