MOZA mBooster Active Pedal.
The mBooster Active Pedal is MOZA's force feedback pedal. In a conventional pedal a spring or elastomer sets the resistance, and it always pushes back the same way. Here a servo motor drives the travel through a ball screw, so the pedal pushes back on its own and can reproduce ABS engagement, traction loss, engine and chassis vibration, gearshift impact and G-force. It is a tool for a driver who already understands what a load cell does and wants to read grip through the foot, not only through the wheel.
Force is measured by dual load cells with a 0-200 kg range, angle is tracked by a 15-bit sensor (32,768 PPR), and motor control runs on a 21-bit magnetic encoder resolving 2,097,152 PPR. Peak power is 270 W, fed from a 110-220 V AC supply converted to 48 V DC. A closed, rail-free structure and a precision ball screw keep noise at roughly 44 dB. In MOZA Pit House you set 0-25° travel, 0-15° pedal plate angle, rebound, stroke, damping, friction, the response curve and the force engagement point, and the pedal switches between throttle, brake and clutch with one click.
The pedal connects to a PC directly over USB and is not tied to one brand: MOZA states compatibility with almost all branded bases and full support for its own wheelbase lineup. POWER, BASE and CLUTCH ports sit on one side of the housing, USB and THROTTLE on the other. The body is aluminium and the pedal face uses a biomimetic curve shaped to the arch of the foot. The active mechanism generates serious force, so the mBooster needs a rigid foundation — a light stand or an ordinary desktop is not built for this load. For CRP2 owners MOZA recommends the separate mBooster Extension Plate for correct mounting. MOZA's official box contents list the pedal alone; the package measures 47 × 35.5 × 16 cm and weighs 8.5 kg.
A pedal that pushes back
In a passive pedal the resistance is set by mechanics: a spring or a stack of elastomers answers the same way whatever is happening on track. In the mBooster a servo motor creates the force through a ball screw, so the character of the pedal changes mid-lap. When ABS engages in the sim you feel the pulse through your sole, the way you would in a car with a real system. Traction loss, engine vibration, gearshift impact and G-force all come through the same channel.

A servo and a ball screw instead of a spring
Inside the cylinder sit a high torque density servo motor and a precision ball screw that turns rotation into linear force at the pedal face. The structure is closed and runs without exposed rails, so friction is minimal and noise stays around 44 dB: the neighbours will not hear you braking late. The 270 W peak draw comes from an external 48 V supply.

Two 200 kg sensors and a 21-bit encoder
Force is read by two load cells with a range up to 200 kg, and angle by a 15-bit sensor resolving 32,768 counts. A fusion algorithm combines both, so the brake input has no dead zone: the pedal responds from the first gram of pressure. Motor control runs on a 21-bit magnetic encoder — over two million counts per revolution, which is what makes the feedback smooth rather than stepped.

Conventional pedals are retuned mechanically: take it apart, swap an elastomer, put it back, test, repeat. Here everything changes in MOZA Pit House: 0-25° travel, 0-15° plate angle, rebound, damping, friction, the response curve and the force engagement point. Presets apply with one click, and the pedal's character can be matched to a specific car — from the soft throttle of a road saloon to the hard brake of a formula car. The same panel switches the pedal between throttle, brake and clutch.

What to plan before you buy
The mBooster generates real force and the foundation has to hold it: a rigid profile cockpit or a reinforced platform. A light wheel stand or an ordinary desk will not do. If you already run CRP2 pedals, MOZA recommends the mBooster Extension Plate so everything lines up; for a build from scratch there is the mBooster Base Plate. The no-extras option is the mBooster Pedal Set, which already includes a CRP2 throttle and both plates.
