Compatibility
Works with any USB-C device: laptops, tablets, phones, power banks, consoles and accessories. Actual charging power is set by the charger–cable–device chain: 240 W needs an adapter and a device that support that profile, and the 0.6 m version is capped at 60 W in any case. Data runs at 480 Mbps, the USB 2.0 level, so a 10 Gbps external SSD or a video output needs a different cable.

SHARGE 240W C to C Cable: description and configuration

SHARGE 240W C to C Cable.

The SHARGE 240W C to C Cable is a USB-C to USB-C cable for charging laptops, tablets, phones and power banks. A built-in E-Marker chip tells the charger how much current the cable can carry, so the power profile is negotiated correctly and the adapter does not hold back output as a precaution.

The 1.5 m and 3 m lengths are rated for 240 W over Power Delivery, which covers powerful laptops and gaming machines that charge over USB-C. The short 0.6 m version is rated for 60 W: handy between a power bank and a phone or in a bag, but 240 W charging needs the 1.5 m or 3 m length. Data runs at 480 Mbps, and the manufacturer estimates about 25–30 seconds for a 1 GB file. The cable does not carry a video signal.

The jacket is soft TPE, so the cable resists kinks and coils up easily. The manufacturer rates it at more than 10,000 bends based on its own testing. Note that the charger itself is not included — to reach 240 W you need an adapter of that rating and a device that accepts it.

240 watts for a laptop

The 1.5 m and 3 m versions are rated for 240 W over Power Delivery — the ceiling of the USB-C PD 3.1 standard. That headroom matters for gaming and workstation laptops, which charge more slowly than they could on an ordinary 60–100 W cable.

In SHARGE Lab testing a MacBook Pro 16 reaches 88% in half an hour with a 140 W or stronger adapter connected. The adapter is not included: the cable removes the limit, but the charger supplies the power.

A length for each situation

0.6 m suits a power bank in a pocket with the phone in hand, or a short run from charger to desk; that version is rated for 60 W. 1.5 m is the all-rounder for a desk or a sofa. 3 m helps when the outlet is far away — in a car, a tent or a rented flat.

The longer versions carry the full 240 W, so you can choose the length by the space rather than by the power you need.

The three SHARGE cable lengths: 0.6 m at 60 W by a desk, plus 1.5 m and 3 m at 240 W

An E-Marker chip inside the connector

High-power cables have to report their capability to the charger, and that is the job of the E-Marker chip in the connector. Without one, an adapter will not raise current and limits charging to the basic profile.

Here the chip is soldered into the plug housing, and the cable works with the PD 2.0 and PD 3.1 profiles. For the user it means one thing: plug it in and the device draws the power it is designed for.

Data, durability and what the cable will not do

Data runs at 480 Mbps — the USB 2.0 level; the manufacturer estimates about 25–30 seconds for a 1 GB file. This cable is not the one for a 10 Gbps external SSD or for sending a picture to a monitor: it carries no video signal.

What it does offer is a soft TPE jacket that does not hold kinks, and SHARGE Lab testing rates it beyond 10,000 bends — for a cable that gets coiled into a bag every day, that matters more than peak data speed.
