Compatibility
PC over USB-B — the shifter is seen as a standard game device and works in sims that support an H-pattern gate. Alternatively it connects over RJ11 to a MOZA base that has a dedicated shifter port. Setup and throttle blip live in MOZA Pit House. Console support is not stated by the manufacturer.

MOZA HGP Shifter: description and configuration

MOZA HGP Shifter.

The MOZA HGP Shifter is an H-pattern gearbox for sim racing, built for drivers who run GT3, touring, rally and truck cars with a real manual gate. The whole body is CNC machined from anodised aviation-grade aluminium, so the lever stays planted and does not wander even during fast shifts.

The gate gives seven forward gears and reverse. Reverse and 7th engage only when the lever is pushed down, so they cannot be selected by accident. A 15-bit non-contact angle sensor reads the lever position, and the patented mechanism with a shock-absorbing damper makes every shift crisp and smooth. The patented intelligent downshift throttle blip system is switched on and tuned in MOZA Pit House, so heel-and-toe technique is optional.

It connects straight to a PC over USB-B, or to a MOZA wheelbase with a shifter port over RJ11 — both cables are included. It measures 100 × 140 × 250 mm, weighs 1.8 kg and bolts down through M6 threaded holes, so it fits most cockpits. A desk clamp for table setups is sold separately, and the shift knob can be swapped for any one with a standard thread.

Seven gears and a proper lockout

The gate is laid out for seven forward gears and reverse. Reverse and 7th are protected against accidental selection: you push the lever down first, and only then does it drop into the slot. On long ETS2 hauls and in touring cars this removes a whole class of mistakes where sixth turns into seventh or reverse.

15 bits, no friction

A non-contact 15-bit angle sensor reads the lever position. There are no wiping contacts to wear out and start skipping gears. The patented shift mechanism also carries a damper, so the impact at the end of the throw is absorbed and each engagement feels solid rather than harsh.

Throttle blip without heel-and-toe

The patented intelligent downshift system blips the throttle for you on the way down the box. The car settles better on corner entry and you do not have to learn heel-and-toe to get there. The system is fully optional: in MOZA Pit House you can enable it, switch it off, or tune it per car and per driving style.

Two ways to connect

The rear panel carries two sockets: USB-B for a direct PC connection and RJ11 for a MOZA base with a shifter port. Both cables are in the box — 1.8 m of USB and 1.5 m of RJ11. If the base is already busy with pedals and a dash, the shifter can simply hang off a free USB port on the computer.

Swappable knob and a dust cover

The standard knob unscrews and almost any knob with a standard thread goes on in its place — a classic ball, wood, or a resin one. The mechanism itself sits under a patented funnel-shaped cover borrowed from real cars: dust and crumbs stay out of the gate, and the assembly keeps a clean look.
